He likes politics, international relations, skateboarding, reading, and lo-fi garage rock.ĭan Ryan was Oíste’s Layout Editor from 2017 to 2019. He’s spent a large portion of his adult life living abroad and hopes to continue to do so. He is from New England, where he also studied Quantitative Economics. Kaleb Rogers was Oíste’s Content Editor from 2017 to 2019 and a CED volunteer in Atlántico. Some of her favorite projects in Colombia have been working with a teenage mothers group, teaching entrepreneurship to high school students, and business advising an ice cream shop and restaurant run by women. She’s passionate about empowering women, especially in business. She studied Global Business Man agement and minored in Women Studies and Visual Arts at California State University San Marcos. She’s originally from from Los Angeles, California, and is currently living in Magdalena as a CED volunteer. She enjoys reading and considers herself a die-hard Harry Potter and Impractical Jokers fan. Jenny is passionate about cultural exchange, female empowerment, and perfecting her cinnamon roll recipe. Sh e received a degree in Ma rketing from the University of Nebraska. Jenny is originally from Lincoln, Nebraska, and currently lives in Magdalena, working within the CED Program. Her favorite parts of Peace Corps are her women’s entrepreneurship class, playing in the river with dogs, and working on the Oíste team!
Emily holds a degree in International Relations and Spanish from Claremont McKenna College in Southern California, a region which helped prepare her for the intense heat of Colombia’s coastal region. A Seattle, Washington, native, she feels right at home in the mountains and rivers of her site in Cesar, Colombia, where she serves as a Community Economic Development volunteer.
Jane enjoys reading and writing in her hammock, and spends her working hours advising a small artisan business.Įmily Chambard is Oíste’s Content Editor. She studied International Relations and Economics at American University. She’s lived in Virginia, Ohio and Washington, DC, though she hopes to move somewhere with ample running trails (like her mountainous site) when she finishes service.
